Thank you all for registering for our Concert in the Park with Ben. Our event is officially SOLD OUT for both nights.

The Yampa River Botanic Park will be open, so if you want to come and enjoy the music, you can still do that by finding a spot in the part to listen from. The secure area for the concert will be closed and there will be no tickets at the door.

CONCERT DETAILS

6:30 p.m. Check-in opens. We invite you to bring a picnic to enjoy before and during the show

  • At check-in, we will issue each member of your party with a wristband. Please wear the wristband throughout the entire event.
  • Once you enter your assigned space on the Green, we ask you to remain there for your safety and the safety of others throughout the event
  • Restroom available at the Trillium House

7:00 p.m. Concert begins. Performance duration will be one hour

Starting on August 1, 2020, you may request a reservation for a space that will accommodate a maximum of 4 people, all of whom must be within your household unit. Household units must arrive together before taking their reserved space on the Green. Each household will be seated within an area that is 6 feet from other reservation holders. All guests must agree to remain within their assigned space throughout the duration of the event. We ask all patrons to wear masks during the event, including check-in.

TO MAXIMIZE CAPACITY, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO COME IN HOUSEHOLD UNITS OF FOUR, WHEN POSSIBLE.

Throughout this pandemic Opera Steamboat will continue to follow guidelines from government agencies and our public health partners, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE), and Routt County Public Health. At this time, for the health and safety of our audience members, we are only hosting in-person events in an outdoor setting. We look forward to welcoming you to an in-person, indoor event as soon as it is safe to do so.

Ben Gulley, operatic tenor & cultural entrepreneur, has been recognized across the globe for his singular blend of talents. Upcoming and recent performances include his debut as the Prince in Rusalka at Opera Steamboat 2019 returning as Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos in 2022, Opera on the Park Recital series and debut as Dick Johnson in La Fanciulla del West with Opera Orlando, Louisville Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pops Headliner, Soloist debut in Rachmaninov’s The Bells with Richmond Symphony 2020, Opera San Luis Obispo as Tamino in Die Zauberflote 2018, Sarasota Opera as Ismaele in Nabucco 2019 and debut as Pedro in Tiefland 2018, Dr. Marianus in Mahler’s 8th with South Dakota Symphony 2019, concerts with Jacksonville Symphony 2018 & Grand Rapids Symphony 2018, his Carnegie Hall solo debut with The American Symphony and his solo US concert tour presented by Live On Stage 2019-20, amongst other. His international operatic debut was covering the late great Marcello Girodani as Enees in Les Troyens at Hamburg Staatsoper after performing it in San Francisco with Maestro Kent Nagano. He is also a former member of the SONY/BMG recording group The American Tenors. Ben is equally at home in his career in musical theater, and as a singer/songwriter and crossover artist with mainstream artists such as David Foster, Mustafa Shakir, Rogelio Douglas Jr, and Brenna Whitaker. About Anna Roder

Born in Germany and now based in London, Anna Roder is an American-English violinist. She began her studies at age 3, and grew up playing solo, chamber and orchestral works in New Mexico and Colorado. She studied violin performance at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music under Mark Kaplan and Nam Yun Kim and completed her Master’s degree at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (GSMD) with Stephanie Gonley. While at GSMD, Anna led numerous orchestral projects, including the UK premiere of Deqing Wen’s The Wager, in conjunction with Shanghai Opera, and the GSMD portion of a season-ending performance of Symphonie Fantastique with Sir Simon Rattle and the LSO. Anna has also soloed twice with the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra in the US, most recently playing the Brahms Violin Concerto to sold-out performances in September 2015.

In addition to freelance engagements in the London area, Anna has recently worked with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, English National Ballet, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. As part of Orpheus Sinfonia, she also led the award-winning production of Britten’s Rape of Lucretia at the Arcola Theatre’s Grimeborn Festival in 2018 and returned to lead their production of Wagner’s Das Rheingold in August 2019.

About Teresa Steffen Greenlee

Teresa Steffen Greenlee is the concertmaster of the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra and performs regularly as first violinist of the Steamboat String Quartet. She received her bachelor music degree in violin performance from the University of Wisconsin School of Music and earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. While living in Madison, Wisconsin, she played in both the Madison Symphony Orchestra and the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. Residing in Steamboat Springs for the past 20 years, Teresa has been on the front lines in the growth and development of the Steamboat Symphony and its education programs as the director of the Youth Immersion program. She maintains a private music studio of over 35 violin and viola students and is committed to helping to create an exceptional learning environment for local classical musicians.

About Elissa Greene

Elissa Greene, executive director and CEO for Strings Music Festival, moved to Steamboat Springs in 2004.No stranger to life in the ‘Boat, she spent almost every summer of her life in the Yampa Valley before making it her home.
